How projects are delivered

A practical overview of how we define scope, execute delivery, and transition systems for reliable long-term operations.

Delivery approach

Clear scope, phased execution, accountable outcomes

Each engagement begins with defined objectives, constraints, and success criteria so delivery stays aligned with operational priorities. We document scope early, confirm architecture decisions, and execute against agreed milestones.

Implementation covers planning, build and integration, quality readiness, and handoff. Your team receives practical documentation and transition support so systems can be operated confidently after go-live.

Typical timeline: 2-4 weeks for discovery and planning, followed by phased implementation based on complexity and integration dependencies.

Independent validation for reliable releases

WRS treats quality as a continuous discipline—not a final gate. Our QA practice supports regulated and enterprise delivery with clear evidence, traceability, and repeatable processes.

We align test planning and execution with ISTQB principles and your operational risk profile. That means requirements and risks drive coverage, not ad-hoc scripts: every cycle ties back to what the business needs to trust in production.

Engagements include functional and technical validation, security-sensitive scenarios, and protection of personal information where applicable. We work alongside development so defects are caught early, regression risk is controlled, and release readiness is documented for stakeholders.

Where it adds value, we support test automation, structured end-user acceptance, and handoff materials so your team can sustain quality after go-live.

What we cover

  • Test strategy, scope, and traceability to requirements
  • Functional, integration, and regression testing
  • Technical and non-functional checks aligned to your standards
  • Security and privacy considerations in test design
  • Defect lifecycle, reporting, and release sign-off support
  • Automation feasibility, maintenance, and UAT facilitation

Our Story

From Edmonton roots to cross-location delivery

We started Winding River Solutions in Edmonton in 2002 because we wanted to do something straightforward: help organizations untangle real operational problems with honest software advice and delivery—not slides for their own sake. When our clients needed more capacity without losing that standard, we opened a delivery center in Subotica in 2005. It gave us a second home base and a simple goal: the same care for quality and continuity, whether you are working with us from Alberta or collaborating daily across both offices.

Twenty-plus years in, many of us still measure a good week by whether a client team felt heard in a working session and clearer when they left it. Public sector or private, we build systems your staff can run, audit, and grow with—because we know what it feels like when software has to hold up in regulated, high-stakes environments long after the launch date.

You will find us in architecture reviews, delivery checkpoints, and handoff conversations, asking direct questions and documenting what matters. We like early visibility into progress, plain-language handoffs, and leaving your people confident they can operate what we built together. That is what we mean when we talk about a long-term partnership.
